On Feb 6, 2021, the Pink Foundation along with IndusTV hosted a Sufiana Night, The show was full of mesmerizing music by various artists such as Bhavin Shastri, Biba Singh, Sarika Kansara, Rahul Sharma, and Shikha Prashar.
The night was dedicated to highlight the issues of female gendercide. India is home to one of the highest rates of female infanticide incidents in the world. In a recent global study on female infanticide , it has been determined that at least 50 million girls have gone “missing” due to sex-selective abortions. Thousands of baby girls are abandoned each year, with very few that are able to be rescued, which is caused by
an extension of sex selection practices.
For the last few years, the members of The Pink Foundation have been working tirelessly to advocate against the ongoing female gendercide practices like infanticide, feticide, baby killings to the world. They have been raising global awareness concerning the loss of female lives in India, pursuing justice for the lives lost, assisting in the rescue of and care for baby girls, and empowering women.
Pink Foundation has also secured a home for abandoned girls, where girls are sheltered, fed, educated, and nurtured to strive in their live. Doing the show some of the stories these girls were shared. It was a proud moment to see that these are some amazing girls are fighting against all odds and flourishing in life.
THE PINK FOUNDATION is a non-profit public benefit 501(c)(3) corporation and is operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code.
